LOUIS COUNTY, W.Va. (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic dispute landed two people in jail after they were accused of destroying property and lying.
On October 6, 2024, officers with the Weston Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance in Weston, West Virginia. Upon arrival, law enforcement was advised that both parties involved in the incident had left the scene and were walking along the highway. The men, identified as Chance Marple and Faith Carder, initially denied any altercation.
During cross-examination, the two men claimed that another person, Howard Marsh, was driving the car and caused the accident, hitting a utility pole and fence. However, witnesses reported that Marple and Carder had been seen arguing and punching each other, and that they were both in the car when it reversed downhill, and that it was located between a utility pole and the witness’s fence. It is said that some parts were damaged. These claims were corroborated by another witness.
When officers inspected the vehicle, they discovered the license plate did not match the vehicle and no insurance documents were found. It was also revealed that Marple has a history of driving with a suspended license and previous convictions from 2023 and 2024, as well as a domestic assault conviction from 2023.
Marple and Carder are both charged with domestic assault, criminal damage to property, providing false information and conspiracy. Marple faces additional charges of driving with a suspended license, no insurance and improper registration. Damage to the fence is estimated at approximately $220.
The incident further escalated when Marple, who was informed of the charges by a police officer, called the police station, threatened to “deal with it my way,” and then abruptly hung up.
