For the week ending Oct. 25, 2024, Alabama Livestock Auctions had a total of 12,423 head received at 16 markets, compared to 11,508 head last week and 12,783 head last year.. Comparison to last week: Slaughter Cattle was steady down $3.00 and Slaughter Bulls were steady up $2.00. Feeder cattle sold for 1.00 to 7.00 more. Feed cattle are in high demand and trade is active. Replacement cattle sold well. Year-to-date, the number of applications received was 445,042, compared to 530,609 last year.
