CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne City Council is currently meeting to approve a resolution that would allow the city to move forward with annexing county parcels along Del Range Boulevard.
According to tonight’s agenda, one resolution includes 38 lots, of which 28 would be developed for residential use, one for commercial use and one for church use. The land is typically located north of Bevans Street, west of College Drive, and south of Dell Range Boulevard.
Other pockets are typically located east of Ridge Road, west of Whitney Road, and along Del Range Boulevard. It includes 26 lots, 23 of which are developed for residential use.
Annexation of county pockets is consistent with City Council’s 2022 priority list. A “County Pocket” is an area of unincorporated land that is 100% surrounded by the City of Cheyenne. On March 27, 2023, the city completed the annexation of the first of four county pockets northwest of Ridge Road and Pershing Boulevard.
An interactive map identifying pockets of the county and general information about annexation goals can be found on the City Annexation web page at www.CheyenneCity.org/Annexation. If a property owner is interested in a voluntary annexation early in the process, they must fill out a voluntary annexation form on the City’s annexation webpage.
Tonight’s agenda will also consider a tax increment loan request and other projects from a developer based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who is building about 300 apartments in Cheyenne.
