SSDI recipients will receive one of four Social Security payments in November. To qualify for any of these, apart from other eligibility criteria, you must apply to a government agency for approval.
Disability benefits can be either Social Security Disability Insurance or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). In some cases, we may share the paydays of some eligible recipients. And this is what will happen in November.
SSI and SSDI as of November 1, 2024
All SSI recipients will receive their monthly payment on November 1st. If you have Social Security Disability Insurance, this federal check or direct deposit may not be the only payment you receive.
Typically, people who receive their SSDI payments on November 3rd will receive a check or direct deposit in advance. By the way, November 3rd is not a business day, so it will not be your disability insurance payday.
Therefore, SSA had to reschedule this disability insurance payment to the previous Friday, which is a business day. Eligible beneficiaries will then receive their disability benefits on November 1, 2024, instead of November 3.
2 direct deposits on November 1st: 1 SSDI + 1 SSI payment
To receive two payments on November 1st, you must:
Be eligible for SSI and SSDI at the same time Do not violate Social Security regulations to maintain eligibility
Note that the November SSI or SSDI payment will not implement the 2.5% COLA increase for Social Security announced on October 10th. SSI recipients will not receive the COLA increase until December 31st.
SSDI recipients will not receive cost-of-living adjustments until January 2025. In terms of amount, SSI recipients can receive up to $3,822, but the average payment is likely to be around $1,539.
SSI recipients can receive up to $943, with an average of $698. Eligible couples will receive up to $1,415 in Supplemental Security Income payments. Post-COLA boost payments can be up to $967 for individuals and $1,450 for couples.
