PNC Bank leads all banks in Pennsylvania when it comes to deposits.
However, in southcentral Pennsylvania’s Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties, PNC Bank ranks second behind Lancaster-based Fulton Bank.
Statistics for the fiscal year ending in June were released last month by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Thirty-five banks are located in these six counties. There are 422 branches across the six counties.
Below is a look at how the top 10 banks performed in terms of deposits in the central Pennsylvania market.
Fulton Bank had $8.1 billion in deposits across 44 branches in the region and a market share of 16.6%. PNC Bank had $7.5 billion in deposits across 26 regional branches and a market share of 15.3%. M&T Bank had $5.3 billion in deposits across 54 branches; Trust Bank had $4 million in deposits across 38 branches in the region, for a market share of 8.3%. Wells Fargo Bank had $2.98 million in deposits across 25 regional branches and a market share of 6.1%. First National Bank had $2.92 million in deposits across 21 branches in the region, giving it a market share of 5.9%. Mid Penn Bank had $2.3 million in deposits across 18 branches in the region and a market share of 4.7%. Ephrata National Bank had $1.6 billion in deposits across 16 branches and a market share of 3.44%. People’s Bank had $1.6 billion in deposits across 25 branches and a market share of 3.35%. Oldstown Bank had $1.5 billion in deposits across 11 branches and a market share of 3.12. % market share.

There are 21 banks in Cumberland County with 65 branches. PNC Bank leads the county with 40.4% market share. Dauphin County has 17 banks with 65 branches. Mid Penn Bank, based in Susquehanna Township, leads the county with a 24.3% market share. Lancaster County has 24 banks with 147 branches. Fulton Bank leads the county with a 29.4% market share and has 12 banks and 33 branches in Lebanon County. Fulton Bank leads the county with a 35.8% market share and has five banks and 12 branches in Perry County. Landisburg Bank leads the county with 38.9% market share, and York County has 16 banks with 100 branches. M&T Bank leads the county with 27.8% market share.
