summary
According to PIMA’s assessment, Slovenian public investment management institutions perform well overall compared to their European peers. Availability of funds for public investments, fiscal targets and regulations, maintenance funding, and monitoring of public assets are areas of strength. The main areas of improvement are project evaluation and selection, procurement, portfolio management and oversight. The short-term challenge will be to address bottlenecks in the execution of capital projects. In the medium to long term, fiscal constraints will tighten, increasing the premium for stronger evaluation and selection processes.
