Silver Dollar City announced a “historic announcement” Thursday that outlines the next 10 years of the amusement park.
Earlier this year, Silver Dollar City broke ground on a new Silver Dollar City Resort on part of the 1,200 undeveloped site, scheduled to open in late 2026. The seven-story resort is located west of the amusement park. Overlooking Table Rock Lake. It will feature 260 themed guest rooms, an indoor and outdoor pool, a full-service restaurant, 1,700 square feet of meeting space and a special entrance to Silver Dollar City, President Brad Thomas said Thursday afternoon with eager media. revealed to the guests.
Silver Dollar City Resort is just one part of our investment in Silver Dollar City Parks and Resorts. Herschend Family Entertainment, Silver Dollar City’s parent company, plans to invest $500 million over the next 10 years in the undeveloped land it purchased about 18 months ago. Herschend CEO Andrew Wexler told the News-Leader that about $100 million of the $500 million total will go toward Silver Dollar City Resort. Thomas said he will announce further developments in the coming years.
“People don’t really know the Herschend name. It’s not like Disney, where you kind of know what it means,” Wexler said. “For us, it’s about local brands and local community. Silver Dollar City is about the Ozarks.”
Although specific details were not disclosed, Wexler said guests can expect Silver Dollar City’s craft elements to be incorporated into the resort.
Prior to construction, extensive landscaping will be required in the area where the resort will be located. Wexler said construction began on the project about a month ago.

“This is an aggressive construction schedule,” said Thomas, who expects the resort to be ready for guests by 2026.
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson was one of several guests at Thursday’s announcement.
“When I heard they were going to do this resort, for me it was about sticking a flag in the ground and saying, “We’re here to stay. We believe in it, and we’re like, ‘Here we go forever,”’ Parson said Thursday at the construction site. “What a wonderful statement.”
There have been some discussions about opening Silver Dollar City Resort for nearly 20 years. Wexler said that when he was hired as a consultant by Herschend Family Entertainment in 2007, he was specifically hired to develop hospitality strategies for the company’s theme parks. But just one year later, in 2008, the plan was canceled due to the financial crisis. Years passed, and in 2015, Herschend was able to work with Dollywood to open Dollywood Dreammore Resort & Spa in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Following the success of DreamMore, the company began exploring other new ideas.
Herschend Family Entertainment owns several well-known attractions throughout the Midwest, including Silver Dollar City, Dolly Parton’s Stampede, Showboat Branson Bell, Dollywood, Kentucky Kingdom & Hurricane Bay, and Pink Jeep Tours.
The past 12 months have been busy for Silver Dollar City staff and fans. In March, the amusement park unveiled its newest roller coaster, Fire in the Hole.
