It was a hole-in-one for New York’s Salaam Club, which hosted its annual golf tournament on Sept. 27.
The event, held at Marine Park Golf Course, raised money for a scholarship fund for Brooklyn high school seniors.

A raffle was held that day, with the winning prize awarded to the longest drive and closest to the pin. The outing was followed by dinner.
Salam Club President Ralph Thacker said attendance was higher than last year, with 70 people taking part.

“I am trying to build the scholarship fund so that it is a great asset to the club, so that we can help applicants win significant amounts of money and give it to more applicants.” he said. “It was a fun and beautiful day. Ideally we would like to reach 100 golfers, but we are working towards that. We need the support of the community.”
