RAPIDS CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Many homeowners in Rapid City will receive letters next week about a city-approved program that could save them thousands of dollars on unexpected home repairs.
This letter, sent by Service Line Warranties of America, provides information about affordable repair coverage for indoor plumbing and drainage systems, outdoor sewer lines, and outdoor water lines.
Amidst all the scams, city officials emphasized the legitimacy of the letter, saying the plan is typically not covered by homeowners’ insurance or the city’s coverage, so it won’t cover unexpected repair costs. It claims to provide protection from.
The city partnered with Service Line Warranties of America in 2018.
Since then, more than 1,000 Rapid City homeowners have signed up and saved nearly $900,000 in repairs.
“The last thing you want to do is get home and find that one of your pipes is leaking and end up paying thousands of dollars in repairs. It’s an easy way to make sure that if something happens, you have support, compensation, and someone to respond right away,” said Rapid City Public Works Manager Shannon Tuax. .
