The Broken Arrow Police Foundation was able to complete the city’s Real-Time Information Center thanks to a generous donation from KwikTrip.
The Broken Arrow Police Department already has a real-time information center in place, and the new funding will buy the technology needed to get it up and running.
Director Brandon Berryhill says the real-time information center is like having a police officer on every corner.
“We take all kinds of intelligence, whether it’s a video feed or a dispatch center, and we put it into an understandable format,” he said.
The center has access to videos from business partners, allowing agents to respond immediately. Chief Berryhill says they will know exactly where to go instead of searching the scene.
“If you say you’re going to bring in all these cameras and monitor everything, you can’t do it alone. You need an information center with the software to bring it all in. One person can basically buy all the information. , you can tell people, ‘Once you’re out in the field, this is where you need to go, this is what you’re looking for,”’ he said.
About a year ago, Berryhill asked people to start a nonprofit foundation to help pay for things the department needs but doesn’t have in its budget. The foundation contacted QuikTrip, and the company decided to donate the needed $351,000.
“KwikTrip is investing in local law enforcement across Oklahoma and across the country to ensure they have the resources they need to keep their communities safer and stronger,” said Aisha Jefferson of KwikTrip. We are working hard to do so.”
QuikTrip says this is a great way to give back to Broken Arrow while also ensuring our employees and all citizens feel safe in our communities.
“All of our QuikTrippers work in our communities, and investing in local law enforcement will help keep our customers and employees safe,” said Jefferson.
