QBE North America announced the appointment of Matt Westhoff as president of its commercial insurance business, effective November 11, 2024.
Mr. Westhoff will be responsible for leading the company’s more than $1 billion commercial insurance portfolio consisting of workers’ compensation and real estate programs, commercial construction, and specialty catastrophe insurance. In this role, he will focus on profitable growth, disciplined portfolio management, and strong trading partner and distribution relationships to drive strong underwriting and financial performance.

Mr. Westhoff has built and grown high-performing, profitable businesses with deep expertise across the large commercial real estate sector and a focus on portfolio management, underwriting excellence, leadership, customer and sales management. He joins QBE with a wealth of experience.
He will be based in New York and has moved to Chief Underwriting Officer for North America, replacing Mike Foley, who served as President of Commercial Insurance for QBE North America starting in March 2022.
