ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. — More than 444,000 secured property tax bills for the 2024-2025 fiscal year have been mailed to property owners, according to Alameda County Treasurer and Tax Collector Henry C. Levy.
These bills total more than $5.8 billion.
The first property tax payment is due by November 1, 2024, and late fees will be assessed after December 10, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
The second payment is due by February 1, 2025 and will be considered late after 5:00 PM on April 10, 2025 and an additional 10% penalty and $10 fee will apply. Fines can climb into the thousands of dollars.
To ensure timely payments, Alameda County offers several options.
eCheck: Pay online with no fees via acgov.org/propertytax. Credit Card: Available online or over the phone (tolls apply). Drop Box: Check payments may be made at the county courthouse or the Department of Business Licenses. Mail: Send your payment to a new destination. Lockbox address: Henry C. Levy, Treasurer and Tax Collector, PO Box 45862, San Francisco, CA 94145-0862.

Not receiving a bill does not exempt property owners from late payment penalties.
