WASHINGTON (TNND) — Former President Donald Trump announced a new policy proposal Tuesday that calls for reparations for victims of crimes committed by immigrants.
The presence of criminal organizations like Torren de Aragua in the United States is under the surveillance of federal authorities. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said this month that the Biden-Harris administration is doing “everything possible” to combat these gangs, adding that the problem is “not a new phenomenon.”
President Trump said at a press conference at Mar-a-Lago that his administration would work to seize the assets of these gangs and use them to create a “reparations fund.” He explained that people affected by crimes committed by immigrants may be eligible for payments.
The government will support reparations,” Trump said.
The proposal was just one of several ways the former president used the event to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris with just a week left until Election Day. He accused the vice president of causing “unfathomable misery” across the country through his immigration, economic and military policy decisions.
“Mr. Kamala cast the decisive vote that led to the worst inflation in our lifetimes,” he said. “This will probably be the worst inflation ever.”
The former president also used a new campaign slogan during his appearance: “Trump will fix it.”
“We’re going to fight like hell for the next seven days and hopefully, and most importantly, we’re going to fight even harder for the next four years because we’re going to turn things around and fight like hell.” , to make this country greater than ever,” he said.
President Trump’s plan is just one of several aimed at combating immigration crime in the country. He also announced this month a program called Operation Aurora to remove illegal immigrants with gang ties from the United States. The project aims to honor Jocelyn Nangarei, Laken Riley and Rachel Morin, who are victims of crimes committed by illegal immigrants. .
Aurora also refers to the Colorado city where authorities have confirmed multiple members of Torren de Aragua are active. CBZ Management, an apartment complex management company, claimed on social media earlier this month that an employee was attacked by a gang member, leaving him bloodied and bruised.
