A three-story storage facility with the addition of two one-story buildings at Cross Keys Road and the Turnersville Road/Bittle Avenue intersection in Pine Hill was approved over the summer. The proposal was considered by Camden County last month.
The project will be developed right next to an existing Dollar General store that opened several years ago.

The three-story main building totals 122,595 square feet and is located on Cross Keys Road, next to Dollar General. This is an indoor facility that is air conditioned.
Two more one-story buildings will be developed behind the Dollar General. Each of these buildings will support 11,000 square feet of storage space. These configurations result in a standard “pull up to the garage door” implementation.
Together, the three buildings total approximately 145,000 square feet of rentable storage space. At this time, it is unclear who will brand the storage facility.
Entrance to the new storage facility building will be located along Berlin Cross Keys Road, utilizing the existing entrance developed for Dollar General.
When the Dollar General parking lot was built, they wisely designed the connection to Cross Keys Road to turn right into the Dollar General parking lot. They were clearly thinking ahead to future development opportunities for the remaining site. This makes it easier for developers to extend the same entrance into new storage facility developments.

Simply put, cars turning from Cross Keys Road will either go right toward Dollar General (as they currently do) or continue straight to the storage facility grounds.
From that entrance, a large three-story building is on the left, then the driveway leads back to the back of the property (behind the Dollar General) with two smaller buildings.
To support the development’s water management, a large ‘L’ shaped water basin will be placed in the space between the building and Cross Keys Road, wrapping around to the rear corner close to Bittle Avenue.

As previously mentioned, the storage facility site is located where Turnersville Road and Bittle Avenue connect to Berlin Cross Keys Road.
Bittle Avenue is a residential street, with houses lining both sides of the road. All the houses remain in their original condition. One of the homes has a large storage facility building beyond the backyard.
At this time, there is no confirmation as to when construction will begin.
