Nuveen Real Estate, Ares, Vantage Data Centers, Equinix, Knight Frank, Hines, JPAM, TPG Angelo Gordon, CBRE IM
JPMorgan Asset Management – Justin Heller has joined the firm as a managing director and portfolio manager as part of the Americas real estate platform’s net lease strategy. Mr. Heller joins JPMorgan from TPG Angelo Gordon, where he served as a managing director and a member of the firm’s investment committee. Heller will be responsible for identifying, acquiring and managing JPMorgan’s net lease real estate properties, a role made possible by the firm’s acquisition of Trio Investment Group late last year. Prior to joining TPG Angelo Gordon, Heller was a senior consultant at FTI Consulting, where he was responsible for developing recovery models, creditor recovery evaluations, and preparing New York multi-sector evaluations for restructuring operations.
Vantage Data Centers – Jeremy Deutsch joins the company as President of APAC. In his new role, Mr. Deutsch will drive Vantage’s regional growth, including strategy, market development, sales, construction and operations. He will report to Jeff Tench, executive vice president of North America and Asia Pacific. Mr. Deutsch joins the company from Equinix, where he served in various roles over the past 20 years, most recently as president of APAC since 2019. Mr Deutsch previously held positions at leading ICT companies including Unwired Australia and Pihana Pacific, which were subsequently acquired. Joined Equinix in 2002. Deutsch served as the first president of the Asia Pacific Data Center Association.
Nuveen Real Estate — Batih Van Leer and Stefano Rubini join Nuveen from Ares and will co-lead the team reporting to Randy Giraldo, European Head of Investments at Nuveen Real Estate. Both have been appointed managing directors and co-heads of the firm’s strategic transactions team in Europe. They will also work with fund manager David Pearce to oversee Nuveen’s European value-add series, including fundraising and the upcoming development of a second strategy. Both will be based at the company’s European headquarters in London from January. Van Leer joins Nuveen after nearly 10 years at Ares. Previously, he held positions at CBRE Investment Management with a focus on real estate acquisitions and asset management, and at Savills in the Netherlands. Mr. Roubini joins after spending the past three years at Ares and before that six years at Partners Group in Switzerland and the UK. Rubini started his career in investment banking and project finance at UniCredit in Italy.
CBRE Investment Management — Ben van den Tol has been appointed Director of Client Solutions. Mr Van den Tol will be responsible for leading client solutions for the UK defined contribution market, including building bespoke solutions across private and listed property and infrastructure.
Hynes – Thomas Ummels has been appointed Managing Director and Head of Development and Construction in the Netherlands. Prior to joining Hines, he was Chief Development Officer at EDGE, a Dutch real estate development company, where he spent 20 years in various roles focused on development and construction.
Knight Frank – Craig Shute becomes CEO of Asia Pacific region effective April 1, 2025. Chute will succeed Kevin Koppel, who is currently CEO of the Greater China business and will retire from the partnership in March 2025. Shute, who joined Knight Frank last year, has more than 25 years’ experience in the real estate industry and has held senior management positions in Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong SAR and the United States. Prior to joining Knight Frank, Mr. Shute was a Managing Director at JLL in Victoria, Australia, and led CBRE’s operations in Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan from 2008 to 2016.
BTIG – Sumon Chaudhuri has joined the financial services firm as a Managing Director in the Energy, Infrastructure and Transportation Investment Banking Group. Chaudhuri will work with existing banking and product teams to provide strategic advisory services across all sub-verticals within the energy industry, including traditional oil and gas, clean technology, and energy transition. Sumon will be based in Houston and will also be responsible for local banking operations in Texas. Chaudhuri brings over 15 years of experience to BTIG. Most recently, he was a managing director in the energy practice at Bank of America Securities in Houston. Prior to that, Chaudhuri provided investment banking services within Jefferies’ Energy business in Houston.
Revelop — Nizar Mabrouk joins Revelop as a property manager and brings experience implementing value-add strategies across various asset categories in real estate with an emphasis on industrial sectors. Mabrouk most recently worked as an asset manager at Areim and previously worked at Newsec. Mathias Björnfot has been appointed Lease Manager for C/O Workspace, Revelops’ coworking concept. Björnfot, who has a background at SkandiaMäklarna and Tesla, will strengthen the C/O Workspace team and drive the continued development of Revelop’s innovative workspace solutions. Earlier this year, Cale Kubena joined us as a technology developer and project lead. Kubena brings expertise in technology management and asset management, having previously worked at Lexium and Bravida.
General Projects — Rob Selwyn has joined the property development and management company as asset manager from Derwent. Sam Stark, who previously worked at Mileway, has joined as a portfolio analyst, and Diogo Vicente Oliveira, who previously worked at Revantage, has also joined as a portfolio analyst. Joe Peake has been appointed Development Manager. Mr Peake previously worked in Savills’ development management division. Frédéric Schwass has been promoted to Chief Development Officer. Mr. Schwass joined General Projects in 2016. Adam Brady, who joined General Projects from Canary Wharf Group in 2021, will become investment director. Raquel Guirado Sanchez will serve as creative director, focusing on the company’s broader brand strategy and end-user proposition.
