Champion of Southern Dallas County
Radar’s Prime Rail Interest and Prime 45 development helped launch an industrial district in southern Dallas County, NTCAR said.
Rader has been involved in the ownership and development of real estate throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 1984. Inspired by the excellent logistics afforded by the confluence of Interstates 20, 35, and 45, Rader began collecting real estate, forming numerous investment partnerships, and developing real estate. From land infrastructure to building improvements.
NTCAR said Rader set a vision for what could be developed in southern Dallas County, from Interstate 20 to the southern Dallas County border.
In 2004, after seven years of pursuing Union Pacific Railroad (UP), UP agreed to build a $100 million intermodal transportation facility on Interstate 45 in the cities of Hutchins and Willmar. Built on time and on budget, the facility has been a driving force behind the growth of the Dallas County Inland Port and resulting southern Dallas County, NTCAR said.
In 2005, Rader and its partners assembled 900 acres of land along Interstate 45 to create Sunridge Business Park. The park will feature 8 million square feet of industrial buildings and, when completed, will include 60 acres of commercial/retail business. In 2011, he gathered investors and acquired 2,300 acres in Hutchins, Lancaster and Willmar. Radar then acquired an additional 700 acres and began developing Prime Point, a 3,000-acre industrial park with rail access and providing a hub for manufacturing, distribution/warehousing, and technology facilities.
Radar is involved in 8,000 acres of land at the Dallas County Inland Port, bringing billions of dollars of private investment to Willmar, Hutchins, Lancaster, Dallas, and Dallas County, making the county one of the fastest growing industrial areas in the nation. I have one.
“Mike Rader epitomizes what this recognition means,” Teasdale said. “He recognized the opportunity in southern Dallas County and invested years before others realized the potential of this overlooked area. Through his passion, his efforts have had a tremendous economic impact. and served as a catalyst to transform southern Dallas County into DFW’s largest industrial submarket.”
Master Plan for Collin and Grayson Counties
NTCAR said Craig has worked tirelessly to push the limits of development projects.
He founded Craig International, a commercial brokerage and development company in McKinney more than 45 years ago, and the company has grown to manage and/or develop more than 15,000 acres of land in Collin and Grayson counties.
His efforts drove the success of Craig Ranch, a national award-winning master-planned community in McKinney that he and his partners began developing 24 years ago.
Craig Ranch started with 1,125 acres of farmland and currently has a market capitalization of over $5 billion. The 2,200-acre vibrant community includes 500 acres of parks and green space, a 270-acre employment district called McKinney Corporate Center Craig Ranch, and commercial, residential, and mixed-use anchored by TPC Craig Ranch, home of C.J. Includes retail stores. CUP Byron Nelson Classic.
Craig is the Chairman of the Board of TPC Craig Ranch and Chair of the TPC Craig Ranch Host Committee for CJ CUP Byron Nelson.
His current projects include a mixed-use complex with retail, office, hotel, fine dining and a multi-million dollar park adjacent to Craig Ranch at the northeast corner of the Sam Rayburn Tollway and Alma Road. Includes District 121, a $250 million mixed-use development. NTCAR said.
In 2024, Craig and his partners unveiled Preston Harbor, a $6 billion master-planned community on Lake Texoma in Denison. The 3,114-acre project is anchored by a resort hotel in Margaritaville and will include restaurants, an upscale marina and approximately 7,500 residential units, according to NTCAR.
“David Craig is a pioneer in commercial real estate development. His contributions and commitment to excellence are second to none,” said Bill Cox, a member of the Hall of Fame Executive Committee. “His efforts at Craig Ranch have proven critical to the development of Collin County, making it the fastest growing region in the United States.”
