QUEENS (WABC) — The New York City Police Department is investigating a crash on Queens’ Belt Parkway that appears to have been staged.
A dashcam video posted by the driver of the October 16th crash went viral on TikTok.
The video shows the car cutting her off and slamming on the brakes to avoid a collision, before the car backs up on the highway and slams into her car.
Driver Asfia Natasha said the accident caused more than $8,000 in damages.
After the accident, the driver got into the front passenger seat and then got out of the car and pretended to be injured, while the back seat passenger was seen trying to cover the rear window.
Natasha said she immediately drove away after noticing the car’s dashcam.
“They were trying to leave in a hurry. They were like, well, I have to go. I have to go get the baby. So basically I turned around to go look at the car. “They just got in the car and left,” Natasha said.
Police said the Fraud Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the incident.
