SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 30, 2024 (Globe Newswire) — Microsoft and BlackRock have partnered to launch a $100 billion fund dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. The initiative, known as the Global AI Infrastructure Investment Partnership (GAIIP), aims to address the growing demand for AI capabilities and the accompanying need for robust data center infrastructure.
In particular, the exponential growth in AI workloads has created an urgent need for advanced computing equipment that can handle increasingly complex and data-intensive tasks. The proposed “AI City” initiative is in the planning stages and, if successful, will not only provide cutting-edge AI capabilities but also the first AI data to produce millions of tons of food annually through advanced greenhouse farming.
