The Kip Ninninger Scholarship Foundation (KNSF) will hold its annual charity golf tournament on Thursday. The tournament is a significant event that serves as one of the organization’s largest scholarship fundraisers of the year.
This event honors the legacy of Christopher “Kip” Dowell Ninger, a talented 19-year-old state wrestling champion whose life was tragically ended in a car accident in 2021. Up to 30 teams are expected to participate in this memorable event. The tournament will tee off Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Boattour Country Club in Troutville.
The Kip Ninninger Scholarship Fund, established in 2021, is designed to honor Kip’s vibrant spirit and outstanding accomplishments. Kip’s family and friends remember him as an American boy with a contagious glow, a grand gait and a heart of gold who made a lasting impact on the Roanoke area. Masu.
A fierce competitor, Kip excelled in wrestling and finished his high school career with an impressive record of 130 wins and 19 losses, including 80 pins.
Last year’s tournament raised an impressive total of just over $59,000, honoring Kip’s legacy and highlighting the community’s dedication to providing scholarships to future students. Kip’s father, Chris Ninninger, hopes this year’s donations to the scholarship fund will exceed last year’s total.
