What inspired you to start Jarvis?
We were driven by a passion to simplify pensions and give individuals control over their financial future.
Tell us about your business – what it is, what you aim to achieve, who you work with, how you approach your customers, etc.
Jarvis is a lifetime annuity solution designed specifically for the needs of modern workers. We partner with payroll companies, recruitment agencies, umbrella companies, and employers of record to deliver a modern, user-friendly pension experience with built-in financial wellbeing tools.
How has the business evolved since launching?
We launched in 2022 and quickly recognized the need for a complete pension solution that covers the needs of the self-employed as well as the employed workforce, as a real alternative to traditional ‘old school’ existing schemes. I did. We have evolved to provide a pension that workers can actively participate in, much like a modern banking app.
Please tell us about the work culture at Jarvis.
Our team is fully committed to our mission to bring financial freedom to millions of UK workers.
How is it funded?
We are backed by a group of supportive angel investors and a combination of UK and US venture capital.
What has been your biggest challenge so far and how did you overcome it?
Our biggest challenge is to make pensions more accessible and attractive to British workers. We tackled this problem by building a lifetime annuity with both personal and workplace jars and creating a challenger bank-like user experience.
How does Jarvis respond to unmet needs?
There is a huge retirement gap in the UK, affecting over 39 million people. Jarvis is designed to address this issue and give workers the financial confidence they need to live more fulfilling lives.
What does the future hold?
We don’t just make pensions more accessible; We structure our members to enjoy the elements of their desired retirement lifestyle right away.
What advice would you give to other founders or future founders?
Keep it simple. Focus your energy on low-hanging fruit.
And finally, a more personal question. What is your daily routine or rule currently?
I wake up at 6am, arrive at my West End office by 7:45am, have breakfast, and empty my inbox. By 8:30am, I had identified my “biggest win” for the day. Often small but impactful. In the morning, the team reports on their current status and engages with customers and suppliers. After lunch, I will return to business activities. I finish work around 5pm, relax by watching a movie or TV show on the train home, and then it’s family time from 6pm until bedtime around 11pm. My important rule? Enjoy!
