BRADENTON, Fla. – Manatee County was hit hard by Hurricane Milton last week, and officials have just released an initial assessment of the post-storm damage.
Hurricane Milton caused more than $351 million in damage to property in unincorporated Manatee County, officials said.
Residential real estate:
Destruction – 70 Major Damage – 3480 Minor Damage – 2760 Impact – 5610 Dollar Loss – $323,268,713
Commercial real estate:
Destruction – 2 Major Damage – 223 Minor Damage – 78 Impact – 193 Dollar Loss – $28,143,776
Destruction is visible throughout Manatee County. Due to extensive damage to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, all commercial flights have been canceled until October 16th.

Cities such as Ellenton and Bradenton were damaged by Milton’s high winds. Residents of Thai Debut, a mobile home park in Ellenton, are being forced to rebuild after their homes were destroyed in the storm.
Manatee County residents are eligible for FEMA assistance. Affected individuals can apply for assistance here or by calling 1-800-621-3362.
