BLUEFIELD, WV (WVVA) – Greenbrier Valley Airport announced it has been awarded $2.8 million for infrastructure improvement and expansion projects. The funding was awarded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration. (Eda)
EDA approved the airport’s application under the Economic Adjustment Assistance Program, with a total project cost of approximately $3.5 million, including $700,000 in local investment.
The project includes:
Construction of 10 new T-hangars Construction of 550 square feet of conference room and bathroom facilities Installation of approximately 1,800 linear feet of water pipe Addition of approximately 3,500 linear feet of sewer pipe
Greenbrier Valley Airport says it expects the new facility will draw more aviation enthusiasts and businesses to the area, leading to job creation and economic development. This project is in line with the airport’s long-term growth plans.
Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2025, with completion expected in spring 2026.
