Floyd Mayweather, boxing legend…and landlord?!
TMZ Sports reported that Mayweather has signed a massive $402 million real estate deal to buy more than 60 buildings in New York City, totaling more than 1,000 units around the Big Apple.
After agreeing to the deal and sending the seller a large sum of change, Mayweather said, “When I was a kid, I dreamed of owning just one house. If you work hard, you can achieve anything.”
According to The Real Deal, Mayweather, 47, is purchasing properties primarily located in upper Manhattan from Black Spruce Management.
I’ve heard that Mr. Floyd aims to provide affordable housing to families in need.
Floyd, of course, was one of the greatest pugilists to ever step into the squared circle, retiring with a record of 50-0 after defeating Conor McGregor in August 2017.
Mayweather made bank for this fight… raking in hundreds of millions of dollars for the 10 round fight alone. He repeats the washout from his fight against Manny Pacquiao two years ago.
Over the years, TBE returned from time to time for exhibition matches, the last time against John Gotti III, leading some to speculate that it was because Floyd was having money problems.
But $402 million?! The bank account seems fine.
