Elon Musk made headlines for supporting the Trump campaign, but he’s back in the spotlight after purchasing a $35 million mansion in Texas. This impressive mansion was designed to accommodate his large family, including 11 children and their mother.
Musk’s vast $35 million estate
The Tesla founder reportedly acquired a 14,400-square-foot mansion and an adjoining six-bedroom property, according to public records. These adjoining properties are intended for the residence of two mothers with his children. Sources say Musk believes this will “allow young children to be a part of each other’s lives and allow Musk to schedule time with them.”
Additionally, Musk lives in another mansion about 10 minutes away from his new property in Austin. One of the mothers, Siobhan Gillis, an executive at Musk’s brain technology company Neuralink, has reportedly already moved into one of the mansions with her children. Musk and Gillis just welcomed their 11th child earlier this year.
Musk’s family and past marriages
His second mother, Claire Boucher (aka Grimes), is embroiled in a legal dispute with him and has distanced herself from him. She has three children with Musk.
Musk is believed to have 11 children, with reports saying he may have a 12th child. He has three children with Sivon Gillis, two-year-old twins Strider and Azul, and the couple welcomed their third child earlier this year.
Singer Grimes is also the mother of Musk’s three children, 4-year-old son X AE A-XII, 2-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, and another 2-year-old son, Techno Mechanicus. Musk and Grimes are engaged in a legal battle over custody of their children. Although the two tried to get back together many times, they announced their separation in 2021. Musk filed the lawsuit after Grimes moved to California with her two children in August 2023.
Musk had five children with his first wife, Justine Wilson, and they were married from 2000 to 2008. Twins Griffin and Vivian were born in 2004, and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damien were born in 2006. Musk’s first child, Nevada, tragically passed away in 2002. It’s unclear whether Musk’s older children will live in the new home.
