Top 5 must-see football matches
No. 5: North Muskegon vs. Ravenna
North Muskegon vs. Ravenna, a long-standing rivalry. The Bulldogs are playing well right now. They have 4 wins and 1 loss in league play. North Muskegon hopes to continue its dominance in the conference this week. This is definitely going to be a battle.
4th place: Orchard View vs Heart
The lower half of the lake sector and the upper half of the river. This is sure to be quite a match. Hart is playing well and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.
3rd Place: Reese-Puffer vs. Muskegon
Rivalry games are coming this week! The infamous Hackley Stadium is home to the Rockets and Big Reds. Both teams have struggled so far this season. This is definitely going to be a battle.
2nd place: Mona Shores vs GR Union
Shores was able to continue its undefeated season with a win over Forest Hills Northern last week. Will GR Union become a nuisance that will tarnish the Sailors’ season? Let’s take a look!
1st place: Whitehall vs Ludington
This week, 1st and 2nd place will compete. Ludington has been in tears lately. They defeated Montague, Manistee, Fremont and Oak Ridge. Whitehall will do the job they deserve. I can’t wait to see what Cam and crew can do this week!
Top area highlights

4th Place: Whitehall Football, Gavin Craner
Craner went on a tear this week against Oak Ridge. He ran for 227 yards on 10 carries, including a TD. He averaged 22.7 yards per carry and his longest run was 92 yards. Defensively, he made two solo tackles.
3rd Place: Fremont Football, Carter Frens
The junior from Fremont, Michigan, had a big performance against Orchard View. In a competitive game, he rushed for 218 yards on 24 carries. Frens averaged 9.08 yards per carry on first down and, even more impressively, five touchdowns on the ground.
2nd Place: Montague Soccer, Robbie Smith
In the final conference game, Robbie “Stonewall” Smith lived up to his name. He stopped three decisive penalties in that game. Montague soccer record for the year.
1st Place: North Muskegon Soccer
Nordics are the champions! He scored two early goals and added three in the second half. They managed to beat Montague and win the conference championship!
