Brooklyn — Sen. Roxanne J. Persaud (D-19) awarded a $100,000 grant to the Doe Fund. The grant was used to purchase two new cargo vans for Ready, Willing & Able. These crews clean up neighborhoods and business districts throughout New York City.
This grant is intended to strengthen the Doe Fund’s employment training programs by providing skills and opportunities for a fresh start to individuals facing homelessness, incarceration, and unemployment. The new van will support these efforts and enable us to better serve our communities.
The Ready, Willing & Able program is known for its innovative approach to addressing the complexities of homelessness and unemployment. The Doe Fund equips participants with practical skills and a sense of purpose to build a path to stable employment and sustainable livelihoods.
