LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska Extension will host agricultural producers and agribusinesses on Oct. 23 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Heartland Event Center (700 E. Stolley Park Rd.) in Grand Island. Organize a crop insurance workshop for experts.
This event will help participants improve their risk management strategies and increase their understanding of crop insurance. Crop and livestock producers, insurance agents, marketing consultants, agricultural educators, and other risk management service providers are encouraged to participate.
“Understanding crop insurance can give growers an economic advantage,” said Corey Walters, associate professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. “If you don’t understand how it works, producers can be financially stressed and put at a financial disadvantage.”
This workshop will include updates on the Farm Bill, as well as presentations on current climate trends, annual feed and livestock risk protection insurance programs, market outlook, insurance/reinsurance, and updates from USDA’s Office of Risk Management. Contains.
This workshop is part of a series produced in collaboration between Nebraska Extension and Kansas State University Research and Extension.
The registration fee is $100 and you must register by October 14th. After October 18th, a $20 late fee will apply. Registration can be completed at https://cropinsure.unl.edu. If you have any questions, please contact Cory Walters at 402-472-0366 or cwalters7@unl.edu.
