DARIEN, Conn. — The Darien Community Foundation (TCF) announced Monday that it has appointed Maggie Domont as executive director. DeMont will succeed Janet King, who is retiring after six years at the helm of this premier grant-making organization serving the basic needs of neighborhoods in Darien, Stamford and Norwalk.
“Maggie brings a passion for community service, a proven track record in fundraising, a background in community support, and a lifelong connection to Darien to the Darien Community Foundation,” TCF Board Chair Brandi Maniscalco said in a news release. said. “We are thrilled that a respected Darien native will continue the light of growth, success, and local impact that Janet experienced during her tenure.”
Ms. Demont currently serves as executive director of St. Luke’s Parish, where she successfully ran seven years of annual appeals, served as communications director, and hosted parish-wide events, according to TCF. He previously worked at both Christie’s and Sotheby’s.
DeMont was born and raised in Darien and earned a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University. She and her husband have three daughters and live in Darien.
“Maggie’s passion, humanitarianism, volunteerism, and vision for the future support and strengthen the communities of Darien, Norwalk, and Stamford, and ensure that all community members are healthy, educated, healthy, and reach their full potential. “It is fully consistent with the Darien Community Foundation’s mission of empowering and self-sufficient individuals,” TCF added in a news release.

Since 1951, TCF says it has awarded more than $28 million to nonprofit organizations and community initiatives, impacting thousands of lives in our communities.
TCF’s investments target basic needs, community health, youth success, and workforce development.
In 2024, Darien’s Community Foundation awarded more than $790,500 to fund 36 carefully vetted local nonprofit organizations that provide neighborhood residents with access to basic needs.
