ARH announced that it is expanding its efforts to collect items to be delivered to hurricane victims in the region.
The ARH Hurricane Relief Fund was established in the wake of Hurricane Helen, which caused devastating flooding in parts of North Carolina and Tennessee, according to a statement from ARH.
“As we learned firsthand after the devastating flooding in eastern Kentucky in 2022, recovery doesn’t happen overnight,” the statement said. Residents were forced to evacuate, many remaining with only the clothes on their backs. Some families whose homes were damaged or destroyed are living in tents, cars or shelters. As fall turns to winter, many people will struggle to stay warm. ”
ARH is expanding its collection efforts to include cold weather essentials such as new coats, hats, gloves and blankets, the statement said.
“In our time of need, we received assistance from near and far, loved ones and strangers,” the statement said. “It’s important to never forget our debt of gratitude and to give back as much as possible. No donation is too small.”
In addition to these cold-weather items, here’s how you can make a difference.
