The Bentonville-area real estate market saw an 8.5% increase in home sales in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year, said Katrin Munch, an agent with The Agency Bentonville.
Benton County, where Bentonville is located, and two neighboring counties saw 4,799 home sales in the first half of this year, according to a recent Skyline Report from Arvest Bank and the University of Arkansas published online by the NWA homepage.

Munk also noted that 39.5% of all homes sold were new construction.
“We have extremely low inventory rates. There are a lot of people who are clinging to the two-point interest rate because of COVID-19. So there are a lot of people who are stuck with homes that they don’t have.”Very high rates. I have one and would like to sell it, but the price has gone up a lot since then,” House said. “So there’s a lot of new construction inventory right now. On average, if we closed on 29 new homes per day, we wouldn’t have enough homes, because the population is growing by an average of 37 people per day. Because there is.”
He said there is “a little bit more” of a buyer’s market in Bentonville at the moment, citing factors such as interest rates and the upcoming election.

Munk noted that the surrounding area is also starting to grow “at an exponential rate” as Bentonville residents seek affordability and more affordable housing options.
