TI has officially announced his retirement from performing activities.
During an appearance on 96.1 The Beat’s “Lari at 2” with Ferrari Simmons and BT-hosted Young Doro, the Atlanta legend talked about the station’s annual iHeartRadio Jingle Ball. He will headline there alongside T-Pain, Sexy Red and Saweetie. Khalid, Tinashe and The Kid Laroi on Thursday, Dec. 19, at State Farm Arena.
TI revealed in an interview that this will be his last performance. “I don’t need the money anymore and I don’t perform, so I’m grateful to everyone who offered me one last job,” he said. “I don’t want to do it anymore…I don’t want to fly around for entertainment or have people pay me to sweat.”
When Ferrari asked if TI would be attending another upcoming show, he replied, “Of course I’m going to pick up the phone and tell them I won’t be appearing.” However, although he is retired, he has made it clear that he may perform again in the future, but only on his own terms.
As BET reported, last month the “Live Your Life” hitmaker and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, won a $71 million lawsuit against MGA Entertainment, allowing the toy company to control music group OMG’s Successfully proved infringement of intellectual property rights.
