That’s why it was so frustrating when restaurant staff came in on Sunday morning and found some of the pumpkins had been crushed. “A number of them were knocked off the roof, off the stairs, and the pumpkins on our own property were messed up. Yeah, it was really disappointing,” said Kitchen 747 manager Michael Jerace. Gerace said surveillance video shows a group of what appears to be children vandalizing the property Friday and Saturday night, causing damage to more than just the pumpkin patch. Folding tables and cushions were thrown from the roof,” Jealous said. “There were some spare plates that we kept upstairs when we were seating guests, but they were thrown off the roof the next day and shattered in the street.” Napkins and umbrellas were also thrown off the roof. he said. The heater was also damaged. “Everything was chaotic. At the end of the day, we just want to make sure this never happens again,” Gerace said. Gerace said he had never seen anything like this in the three years he had worked at the restaurant. He hopes something like this never happens again. “We hope that whoever did this, they don’t do it again, because I feel like our community is here. “We don’t need that kind of action because it’s a beautiful community,” he said. Proceeds from each pumpkin sold will be donated to Compassion Planet, a nonprofit organization that empowers underprivileged youth in the Sacramento area. That’s why I was so annoyed when the restaurant staff came in on Sunday morning and found some of the pumpkins smashed.
“They broke multiple things off the roof, the stairs, and messed up the pumpkins on our own property. Yeah, it was really disappointing,” said Kitchen 747 manager Michael Jerace.
Geres said surveillance camera footage showed a group of what appeared to be children vandalizing the property on Friday and Saturday nights, causing damage to more than just the pumpkin patch.
“Basically, the next day we noticed a lot of things weren’t in place. There were leftover ping pong balls under the stairs all over the place. Folding tables and cushions had been thrown in from the roof. ” Jealous said. “We had extra plates to leave upstairs when we were seating guests, but when they came the next day they were thrown off the roof and shattered in the street.”
