WESTFORD — After receiving an anonymous tip earlier this evening, Westford Police conducted a follow-up investigation and identified the owner of an e-bike connected to a recent incident at a school.
Concern was raised in the community last Thursday after a person was seen riding a bicycle through the school grounds.
This information led Westford police officers to discover the bicycle attached to the back of the vehicle.
Upon investigation, officers were able to confirm the identity of the bicycle owner and prove that he was the same person involved in last week’s incident.
The bicyclist was seen on school grounds and cooperated with authorities and spoke with officers about the incident.
He revealed that he wears protective equipment when running on local trails.
After a thorough investigation, police determined that the cyclist had not committed a crime or posed a threat to public safety.
The Westford Police Department would like to thank those who provided information that assisted in this investigation.
Both the Department and Westford Public Schools reiterate their commitment to ensuring the safety of our students and staff.
