Salma Hayek feels “pressure” to make money despite being married to billionaire businessman François-Henri Pinault.
The 58-year-old actress married Pinault, who runs luxury brand company Kering, in 2009, but continues to work in Hollywood and admits she now wants to support herself and earn a living on her own.
She told the Wall Street Journal: “I support many aspects of my life and myself. There’s pressure to make a certain amount of money, but I love it. And now I’ve decided I want to make more.” ”
Salma is currently working on various money-making schemes, adding that her husband is attracted to her ambition. She added, “I think he finds it kind of sexy.”
But even though the ‘From Dusk Tru Dawn’ star is happy to have a healthy bank balance, he doesn’t particularly like talking about his finances with other wealthy people. I admit that there is no.
Furthermore, she added: “For me, the excitement of having a lot of money was that I didn’t have to think about money. And I found that all people wanted to talk to me about was money…strangers. People come up to me and they’re not even friends, but they think they should be friends too because they’re rich.”
During the interview, Salma also spoke about her love for animals, revealing that she was recently mourning the death of her pet owl, Kelling, who was killed by a fox at her home in London.
she said: “We had our own way of communicating. She would hold my hand and play with it, try to pull me…If she didn’t want to come in, I would never leave that owl. She didn’t accept it… She lived a good life.”
Salma previously admitted she was reluctant to get married, turning down Pineau’s marriage proposal twice before they finally tied the knot, but said their wedding felt like an “intervention” by her family.
She told Glamor magazine: My parents and older brother all flocked to me. I had a phobia about marriage.
“I was nervous…I said yes to marriage, but he didn’t actually show up on the day and we couldn’t get married…”
Furthermore, she added: “I’m embarrassed to admit how many times he had to ask me out. Three times! It was the biggest fear I’ve ever overcome.
“He’s a great guy, confident in himself, feminist, loves strong women and knows how to take care of them.”
