LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Garner Industries is dealing with yet another problem after its building was destroyed by a tornado in April.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference Monday detailing a series of crimes that occurred at the demolished facility.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said deputies have arrested seven people at Garner Industries in the past few weeks on charges including trespassing, theft of property and drug use.

The building is surrounded by a fence, but Hochin said someone broke part of the fence and took it away.
Houchin said those arrested have no connection to Garner Industries.

President and CEO Scott McClain said in a statement that the company is working closely with the sheriff’s office to deter intruders from entering its premises.
“Firstly, the structure of the remaining walls and roof is unstable and it is extremely dangerous to enter the premises.Secondly, we are continuing to process the insurance claim and the Looking back on it all, it’s frustrating to have to deal with trespassers who steal our property, and we are truly grateful for the continued support of the Sheriff’s Department, and trespassers are prosecuted. Please rest assured.”
