Nick Offerman will be joining the cast of Apple TV+’s upcoming series Margo’s Got Money Trouble, Variety has learned.
Offerman will star in the series alongside previously announced cast members Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer. The eight-episode show was ordered to series by Apple in February after a multiplatform bidding war. The film is based on Luffy Thorpe’s novel of the same name, which was published in June.
According to the novel’s plot description, it focuses on Margo Millett (Fanning), the daughter of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and a former professional wrestler (Offerman). Now an unemployed single mother in her early 20s, Margo is struggling to make ends meet and decided to start an OnlyFans account. When her father comes back into her life, she begins to incorporate the lessons she learned from the professional wrestling world into her OnlyFans endeavors, leading to unexpected success.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Offerman would star in Netflix’s new series Death by Lightning, which tells the story of the assassination of President James Garfield (Michael Shannon) by Charles Guiteau (Matthew Macfadyen).
Mr. Offerman guest starred on HBO’s hit series “The Last of Us” in 2023, winning an Emmy Award and an Independent Spirit Award for the critically acclaimed episode “Long Long Time.” He is primarily known for his starring roles in shows such as “Parks and Recreation,” “Pam & Tommy,” and “Devs,” as well as films such as “The Founders” and “The Kings of Summer.” His recent credits include the final season of “The Umbrella Academy” and the Alex Garland feature “Civil War.”
He is repped by Austin Tyerman of UTA and Jackoway.
