DAYTONA BEACH — Amazon has two distribution centers in Volusia County with two more scheduled to open in early 2025. What the general public may not know is that the company typically leases its facilities rather than owning them.
The Seattle-based e-commerce giant paid approximately $393.9 million this month to acquire an unopened five-story, 2.8 million square foot robotics facility in a real estate deal that closed on Oct. 24. Now, the situation has changed dramatically. Located at 2519 Bellevue Avenue in Daytona Beach.
The seller is Hillwood Communities, a Dallas, Texas-based development company, that purchased “Daytona 634,” according to a copy of deed records obtained by the Daytona Beach News Journal late Friday from Volusia County Tax Director Brandon Logan. It operated as a development LLC.
