The former WWE Champion wants to face John Cena on his retirement tour.
Cena is ending his career as a professional wrestler with a retirement tour next year. It has been confirmed that he will be taking part in Raw’s Netflix debut on January 6, 2025, and it is rumored that he will begin his retirement tour at that time, including his final WrestleMania match at Mania 41.
With multiple feuds heading into Cena’s final year, the former WWE Champion has expressed a desire to step into the ring with the leader of the Cenación. In an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, The Miz spoke about Cena’s upcoming retirement and his interest in facing his former nemesis.
You’ll never see John Cena in a WrestleMania match again. When Cena says something, it’s one of those things. Sometimes you’re like, oh no, they’re going to be like Motley Crue. It’s our last tour. Three years later, they’re touring. No, Cena is not like that. If Cena says this is it, then this is it. I’m curious to see who will play against him since he has his name in the hat. I’ll wear heels all day long. The hat has a name on it. ”

At the time, Cena and The Miz shared a fierce rivalry, competing in a mixed tag team match in the two main events of 2011’s WrestleMania 27 and later at Mania 33. But The Miz isn’t the only one interested in facing him next year in the 16-time world championship final.
LA Night wants to face John Cena in final WWE WrestleMania match
During a recent appearance on Rock 102.1 KFMA’s Beef Vegan Presents, United States Champion LA Knight said he would love to face current champion Cody Rhodes or Gunther at the upcoming WrestleMania. But L.A. Knight didn’t stop there, dreaming of facing his former ally John Cena at Mania 41.
Well, there are many ways. So I look at the fact that WrestleMania will be John Cena’s last WrestleMania. Will I be the one to face John Cena for the United States Championship? I don’t know. Will I be a U.S. champion by then? Maybe if I was going to write a fantasy book, I might do a title vs. title, me vs. Cody, or me vs. Gunter piece. Looking for a champion. I want the World Championship, I want the WWE Championship, and again, for me it’s always that progression. Keep aiming higher, keep moving forward.
Whether it was Cena, Gunter or Cody, I think we were able to do something special. Again, the crazy thing about this career, especially since being in WWE, is that things that I never thought of or didn’t even know existed as an option for me have presented themselves. That’s it. We don’t know what’s going to happen, especially between now and April. ”
