Officers took action after Easton reported that he had violated a court order and attempted to steal a motorcycle from behind her.
However, after a thorough investigation, officers determined that Easton had not filmed anything that he was not authorized to film. Easton is reportedly the person who advised the Columbus County, North Carolina, Sheriff’s Office to conduct what is known as a civilian standby.
The sheriff’s office said this was done to ensure that the items he took with him did not violate a no-contact order. The unanimous decision to release Easton as a free man did not impress Evans, TMZ reported.

Despite the Sheriff’s Office’s decision, Evans will continue to carry his gun in this case. Her new conversation is that Easton never should have ended up in North Carolina’s yard in the first place.

A domestic violence protection order supported the 32-year-old man’s claims against Easton. The court granted the order on May 16, 2024, and Easton was told to stop posting about Evans and the children on social media.
The reality star was also prohibited from visiting or communicating with children at school without a parent or adult present.
Easton was involved in several controversies during her marriage to Evans, including being arrested for driving with a revoked license and an open container. His harsh past may have shaped the mother of three’s anxiety at home after her divorce.

Jenelle Evans suggests mental health check-up for David Easton after divorce
The MTV star, who filed for sole custody of her daughter, noted that her ex-husband should not be around the child without proper psychiatric evaluation. The Blast noted that part of the filing read:
“It is in the minor child’s best interest that Plaintiff be granted primary physical custody of the minor child.”
She also requested that Easton’s visitation or detention time be determined by the progress of his mental health evaluation.
Evans stressed the importance of a mental health evaluation because Easton has a past history of abnormal behavior and substance abuse, which could affect his ability to parent.
