The current expansion project is not a groundbreaking, but instead will involve updating wings of the current building with new infrastructure and enhancements to upgrade existing levels of care and provide expanded memory care services. The $13 million project is currently underway with a financing package provided by Juniata Valley Bank, which participated in financing with Kish Bank and MCS Bank.
“This project is an exciting step forward for Valley View Retirement Community and responds to feedback and requests we have received from current residents and those seeking remembrance services,” CEO Nicole Thurber said in a press release. said.
He said the expansion project was a response to residents’ desire for personal space, along with market research that identified an unmet need in memory care in Central Pennsylvania. The renovation will create Memory Personal Care Neighborhood, featuring 21 private suites with newly designed outdoor courtyards and located in the same building as Memory Lane, Valley View’s current 21-bed skilled nursing memory care. Renovations within the scope of skilled nursing include renovating living rooms, hallways, lounges, dining rooms, and nursing stations.
