There is one bank in Pennsylvania that reigns supreme.
PNC Bank far outperforms other banks in the Keystone State based on deposits.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation last month released statistics for the fiscal year ending June 30.
PNC Bank had $156 billion in deposits, accounting for 27.8% of all deposits in Pennsylvania and more than four times that of its closest competitor, Wells Fargo.
There are 162 banks in Pennsylvania, with a total of 3,380 branches as of June 30th.
Below is a look at the performance of Pennsylvania’s top 20 banks.
PNC Bank had $156 billion in deposits across 267 branches in Pennsylvania, with a market share of 27.81%. Wells Fargo Bank had $38.6 billion in deposits at 179 branches in Pennsylvania and a market share of 6.87%. Citizens Bank had $36.4 billion in deposits across all its branches. It has 229 branches in Pennsylvania with a market share of 6.50%. BNY Mellon has $25.6 billion in deposits across its two Pennsylvania branches and a market share of 4.57%. Bank of America had $22.4 billion in deposits across its 68 branches in Pennsylvania. Market share is 3.99%. First National Bank has $22.1 billion in deposits at 186 branches in Pennsylvania and a market share of 3.95%. TD Bank had $19.7 billion in deposits across 82 branches in Pennsylvania and a market share of 3.52%. Tri-State Capital Bank had $17.9 billion in deposits across its two Pennsylvania branches and a market share of 3.2%. Manufacturers & Traders Trust Company had $15.8 billion in deposits across 154 branches in Pennsylvania, with a market share of 2.83%. Fulton Santander Bank had $14.9 billion in deposits across 120 branches in Pennsylvania and a market share of 2.66%. Santander Bank had $14.8 billion in deposits across 275 branches in Pennsylvania, with a market share of 2.64%. Trust Bank had $14.2 billion in deposits across 136 branches. Customers Bank has $8.1 billion in deposits across five branches in Pennsylvania and a market share of 1.46%. Northwest Bank has $7.7 billion in deposits across 82 branches and a market share of 1.39%. Wilmington Savings Fund Society had $7.5 billion in deposits across 50 branches and a market share of 1.34%. First Commonwealth Bank had a market share of 1.34% with $7.5 billion in deposits across 102 branches. S&T Bank had a market share of 1.33% with $7.4 billion in deposits across 70 branches. .KeyBank National Association had $7.2 billion in deposits across 87 branches and a market share of 1.3%. Dollar Bank, Federal Savings Bank, had $6.8 billion in deposits across 48 branches and a market share of 1.21%. Univest Bank and Trust Co. had $6.5 billion in deposits across 48 branches, 1.16% market share.
