These winning words were uttered by Buffett during the 2008 financial crisis, when he shared in a New York Times op-ed that investors were buying U.S. stocks as stock prices fell dramatically.

While many Benzinga readers chose the quotes “Don’t be afraid” and “The best investments,” the No. 3 quote, “Rule No. 1,” is perhaps Buffett’s best-known quote.
When it comes to applying Buffett’s investing wisdom, there are probably no bad quotes except for that last one.
