MISSOULA, Mont. (KGVO-AM News) – Montana’s 1st District Congressman Ryan Zinke appeared on the KGVO talkback show Wednesday as Democratic opponent Monica Tranel filmed a campaign commercial. He sparked a debate by accusing him of allegedly “unauthorized” intrusion on his property. .
“There’s a line,” Zinke began. “The act of someone illegally entering our property, filming on our property, and bouncing on our bed. It’s a bridge too far, but standing in our driveway to film a commercial and lying about it… That’s beyond the pale. Flathead Beacon said that’s a lie.
Zinke expanded on his comments by saying some members of his family have received death threats.
“And they were filming in our driveway,” he said. “As a former[home secretary]I have received death threats, so has my wife, my children have received death threats, in fact my dog has received death threats as well. We take this issue very seriously, and it’s insane if your family is feeling unsafe at home because someone is making untrue and vitriolic attacks in their yard. They can get away with it, but this just shows that some people have no boundaries. They want to do whatever it takes to win.”
Zinke continued to load his opponent.
“For four years, she has been maliciously and falsely attacking me and my family by saying, ‘I’m not from Montana,'” he said. “That’s funny. That’s funny. I was born in Bozeman and grew up in Whitefish when my family was in school. My father was a plumber and my mother was a real estate agent. Then I went to high school. I graduated. I played baseball at the University of Oregon. I served as a Navy SEAL for 23 years. By the way, you’re a Montanan.”
Mr. Zinke continued that policy.
“Then I go back (to Montana),” he said. “I’ve been a high school football coach, a three-time state senator, a three-time state representative, and I’ve been secretary (of the Department of the Interior). If serving my country doesn’t make me a Montanan, then I think I’m leaving. Now. , all the people in Montana ask, “How long have you been here?” The Zinke family has been in existence for five generations. ”
