RUSTON, La. (KNOE) – The National Science Foundation has awarded $4.6 million to Louisiana Tech University to address the shortage of highly trained professionals in cybersecurity.
Louisiana Tech University says the funding will cover tuition, professional development travel, and He said the money will be used to cover his large monthly salary.
Upon completion of their degree, scholarship recipients must seek employment with government at the federal, state, local, or tribal level to protect the nation in cyberspace.
“It was truly a team effort to get something this big into orbit,” said Dr. Brad Glisson, associate professor of computer science. “To be considered for this award, Louisiana Tech University must have the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) designation, which is expected within two years for cyber defense and research. was an update, so I could draw on my previous successful federal placements to increase my chances of winning again.”
