About seven equity mutual funds offer returns of 25% or more for both three-year and five-year periods. We looked at the performance of 193 equity mutual funds that completed five years in the market.
Four small-cap funds, two mid-cap funds and one multi-cap fund provided returns of more than 25% over the aforementioned period.

HDFC Midcap Opportunity Fund, which is the largest midcap fund based on assets under management, provided returns of 25.96% and 28.85% in the last three and five years, respectively. HSBC Small Cap Fund offered returns of 25.50% and 30.24% over 3-year and 5-year periods respectively.
Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund offered returns of over 25% in both the periods. The next two schemes on the list were by Nippon India Mutual Fund. Japan India Multicap Fund and Japan India Smallcap Fund provided returns of over 25% in both periods.
The Quant Small Cap Fund achieved returns of 25.99% and 45.43% over three and five years, respectively. Tata Small Cap Fund has delivered returns of 25.06% and 32.54% in the last three and five years respectively. Please note that some schemes are not included in the list above as there were many schemes offering returns of 25% or more. . Returned within the last 3 or 5 years. We considered only those that provided returns of 25% or more in both periods. Axis ELSS Tax Saver Fund, the largest ELSS scheme based on assets under management, delivered 7.82% in the last three years and 14.43% in the last five years. Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, the largest flexi cap fund, has offered 16.39% and 25.03% in the last three and five years respectively.

SBI Blue Chip Fund, a prominent fund managed by the largest fund house, has returned 12.56% and 17.21% in the past three and five years, respectively. SBI Contra Fund, the largest and oldest contra fund, returned 24.16% and 30.29% after three and five years, respectively.
SBI Long Term Equity Fund, the oldest of the ELSS funds, has provided returns of 23.48% in the last three years and 25.34% in the last five years.
